Range

The Siberian tiger ranges from Manchuria and Siberia.

Habitat

The Siberian tiger lives in snow-covered coniferous and diciduous forests.

Size

The Siberian tiger is the largest of all the tiger species. Weighing up to 650 pounds. The heaviest Siberian tiger male recorded was 846 pounds.

Characteristics

Siberian tigers have an orange coat or rusty bright brown color. Black stripes ontop and white patches on its face and legs. Their coat is shaggy and thick.

Behavior

Tigers are solitary hunters. It awaits to ambush its prey. It doens't really have that good of a stamina for long runs, but they often catch a weak prey in time that falls victom. It uses its canines to bit the throat of its prey to suffocate it. Tigers will sometimes hunt animals in water.

Reproduction

Female tigers reach sexual maturity at about 3 years of age. Usually 3 cubs are born after a gestation period of 104 - 113 days. They are born with their eyes closed.

Lifespan

Siberian tigers can live up to 20 years in the wild.

Diet

Siberian tigers eat deer, antalope, and wild boars.

Predators

Tiger's only predator is man.
